New Sleep Study Criteria Adopted for DOT Exams

Oral Fluid Drug Testing to Replace Witnessed Non-DOT Urine Drug Tests at BarnesCare

Effective April 1, BarnesCare will exclusively use the Intercept Oral Fluid Drug Test for all non-DOT tests that require a witnessed collection. The oral fluid test will become BarnesCare’s standard testing method for all non-DOT witnessed testing, eliminating the need for a same-sex observer, which is required for urine collections.

Drug and Alcohol Use by Employed Adults
Among unemployed adults aged 18 or older in 2012, 18.1 percent were current illicit drug users, which was higher than the rates of 8.9 percent for those who were employed full time and 12.5 percent for those who were employed part time.
