Biometric screens are a key component in a successful wellness program. Workplace screenings help employees learn and understand their health measurements and risks. They can be a great way to kick off a new wellness initiative or an annual offering to engage employees and remind them that their health is important to your organization.
A simple finger stick is all it takes to check total cholesterol, HDL (high density lipoprotein), cholesterol/HDL ratio and random glucose. The screen includes blood pressure, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), smoking and exercise history. Each participant will have the opportunity to review their numbers with a registered nurse from BJC HealthCare who will identify health risks and recommend practical next steps to reduce risk. We provide supporting educational materials and referrals to other resources as appropriate. All biometric screening information is personal and confidential, as protected by federal law.
A BarnesCare wellness coordinator will help you organize, promote and carry out every detail of your biometric screen event, including setting up a BJC reservation line for appointment scheduling. Our nurses are professional and experienced with facilitating screening events for 25 to up to 250 employees.
Following the screening, an aggregate client summary, also known as a Health Risk Report, will be prepared for your company’s wellness leaders to identify priority health risks on which future wellness programming should focus.
