BarnesCare Can Help Conserve Your Employees' Hearing
Noise, or unwanted sound, is one of the most pervasive occupational health hazards found in a wide range of industries. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), approximately 30 million people in the United States are occupationally exposed to hazardous noise in occupational settings. Occupational noise-induced hearing loss develops slowly over a long period of time (several years) as the result of exposure to continuous or intermittent loud noise.
BarnesCare can help you protect your employees from occupational noise-induced hearing loss. Our certified providers are trained in the latest OSHA and Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) standards.
Assessing Needs
We will work with your safety team to review OSHA standards to update or develop your company's policies and procedures. Our team is available to help you review periodic noise exposure measurements to determine protective equipment needs or necessary changes in production, process or controls.
Audiometric Testing and Evaluation
All BarnesCare locations are equipped with calibrated audiometers that meet American National Standard Institute (ANSI) specifications. Our medical providers perform baseline and annual audiograms according to OSHA and CAOHC standards. They review and document all audiogram results and provide recommendations for further care if a standard threshold shift (STS) has occurred. All test results are maintained according to OSHA standards.
