An Important Message About BarnesCare Operations

At BarnesCare, we take seriously our responsibility to be good stewards of all that is entrusted to us. We manage our resources to ensure that we are providing the highest quality of care by the most efficient means possible with the goal of meeting our clients' needs now and in the future.

Following a thorough review of our clinic operations, we have made the decision to streamline operations so that we may better serve our clients in this changing marketplace. Effective July 1, 2009, BarnesCare Downtown, 909 North 14th Street, will consolidate operations with our Midtown clinic, located at 5000 Manchester Avenue. The BarnesCare Fenton clinic, 1391 Smizer Mill Road, will close for business, also effective July 1.

BarnesCare will continue to provide occupational health services at our Midtown, Westport and St. Peters clinic locations, on-site at our client companies, and through expanded 24/7 coordination with BJC HealthCare emergency departments. As a member of BJC HealthCare, we have access to experts and resources from virtually every area of health care.

For our clients and patients who utilize the Fenton and Downtown locations, the BarnesCare staff is prepared to facilitate a seamless transition. We value your business and thank you for the trust you have placed in our organization.

Please call or e-mail me directly with any questions or concerns about our clinic consolidation.

FluShots

On-Site Flu Shots from BarnesCare

Influenza. The flu bug. It is the dreaded illness that appears every winter with fever and respiratory distress. What's the best prevention against the flu? On-site flu shots from BarnesCare. An annual flu shot is the undisputed best way to prevent the flu and keep your company healthy. BarnesCare is already scheduling on-site flu shots.

BarnesCare's three convenient locations will begin giving flu shots in late October. No appointment is necessary.

Anyone can get the flu. Most people are sick with the flu for a few days, but it's more serious than a bad cold. Every year more than 200,000 people in the United States are hospitalized from flu complications and about 36,000 die. Every year in the United States, up to 20 percent of the population is affected by the flu.

The best time to get a flu shot is in October or November, but because flu season typically peaks between January and March, vaccination in December or later can still be beneficial.

On-Site Flu Shot Request Form
