Our service provides each client with a comprehensive assessment of health risks, preventative vaccines and medications appropriate to their specific travel plans.

I was working in surgery, but helping out an office practice when I noticed these maps. Before long, I found myself intrigued with the process of preparing travelers. I realized there was a need for preventative health care and focused services for international travelers.

I have worked in this specialty over ten years now, but it doesn’t seem like it.

Dr. Sam Stanley is my professional mentor. He is a tropical medicine and infectious disease specialist at Washington University and has been an extraordinary resource throughout the years.

Most people are startled when they realize the risks they may face when traveling. My clients are always surprised to learn that the most common diseases for travelers are transmitted through food sources.

I feel a sense of satisfaction when a client has been given the information they need to protect their health.
------
Increasing public awareness regarding preventative health care needs when leaving the country is a constant challenge.
------
Kenya is the most popular destination for leisure travelers, while China is the most popular destination for business travelers.

The Internet has become a source of instant information, allowing us to stay on top of changes almost as quickly as they occur.

Ironically, I’ve not had the opportunity to travel, though I plan to one day. For now, I’m satisfied by living vicariously through my world-traveling clients.

My advice to clients is: Getting vaccines before travel is an investment in your health. It can truly yield the highest return.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, gardening and other outdoor activities.
