BarnesCare provides the following educational and preventative health services for employers. Services are available at each clinic or on-site.
Other BJC HealthCare wellness services can be coordinated through BarnesCare such as mobile mammography, prostate screening, personalized health coaching, smoking cessation, weight management, stress management, health education, and behavioral health programs.
Influenza Vaccine (Flu Shot)
An annual vaccine is a reliable prevention against severe flu viruses. The best time to get a flu shot is in October or November. But because the flu season typically peaks between January and March, vaccination in December, or even later can be beneficial most years.

The BarnesCare flu shot program is for adults age 18 and older. All scheduled on-site dates are subject to change or cancellation based on vaccine availability and the Centers for Disease Control distribution guidelines.
Health Risk Assessment
BarnesCare has partnered with Health Fitness Corporation to provide the INSIGHT health risk assessment. The INSIGHT questionnaire assesses critical health factors such as tobacco use, personal safety, nutrition, stress, exercise, exams and medical history to identify at-risk individuals and set them on a path to a better lifestyle. Individuals receive a report and an aggregate report is prepared for the employer.
It is recommended that employers conduct the health risk assessment in conjunction with health screenings.
Health Screenings
Know your numbers know your risk. Promote good health with individual on-site screening that measures five key health indicators:
- Blood Pressure
- Cholesterol
- Blood Sugar
- Body Mass Index
- Smoking Status
Interpretation of results, by a health-care professional, is included following each screening. This individual consultation is important to make appropriate recommendations for change and/or medical referrals for those requiring it. Supporting educational materials included. Results are provided within minutes from a simple finger stick. The testing is for adults 18 years of age and older.
Hepatitis Vaccines
BarnesCare provides safe and effective vaccines for Hepatitis A (HAV) and Hepatitis B (HBV). Hepatitis vaccines are available at each BarnesCare clinic or on-site.
