On-Site Health Screenings Promote Wellness

On 18 Aug 2015, in

This is the second in a series of articles spotlighting BarnesCare’s Wellness Program, which can be customized to help companies of any size to control costs and improve worker health.

Heart Health Screen
A simple finger stick is all it takes to check total cholesterol, HDL (high density lipoprotein), cholesterol/HDL ratio and random glucose. The heart health screen also includes blood pressure, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), smoking and exercise history. Registered nurses from BJC HealthCare will be on hand to visit with each participant. They will review their numbers, identify health risks and recommend practical next steps to reduce risk. Nurses will also provide supporting educational materials and referrals to other resources as appropriate.

Health Risk Report
Following your company’s health screening, BarnesCare will provide an aggregate client summary called a Health Risk Report. This report will identify priority health risks on which future wellness programming and prevention initiatives will be based. It helps the experts at BarnesCare design the best program for your organization and budget. See a sample report here.
